St. Augustine of Hippo is considered to be one of the most famous Doctors of the Church. His works are some of the most important pieces of Christian literature. He lived his early life as a pagan, but he had a very saintly mother (St. Monica) that never stopped praying for his conversion. St. Augustine became a priest, and then a bishop. He is a great example of sinner-turned-saint; no matter what you've done in your life, if St. Augustine can become a saint, so can you!
